I believe in the God that can be seen in Scripture. God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit that lives inside every person that puts their faith in Jesus. All spiritual experiences on this blog are viewed through the lens of biblical Christianity. Please read my statement of faith.
Hi, I’m Andrew
My name is Andrew. I met the Lord when I was 19 years old (I’m 36 now). His presence filled my room for 3 to 4 hours as I wept and He encountered me. Soon after this, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit, prayed in other tongues, and had dreams and prophetic encounters.
All I wanted to do was worship and spend time with Jesus. Most of the encounters during this time were minor, but some were major and involved circumstances and events that are hard-to-believe but can be verified. I plan to share some of them on this blog at some point.
In 2014 I reached a place of genuine desperation. I faced inner and outer trials, grief, loss, and much anguish of soul. It went way beyond what my idea of a dark night of the soul was. I can’t put words to it. For two years I was in the darkest season of my life. Until a person is there it’s not something that can be understood.
That dark season ended up being the most rewarding experience I’d ever go through.
I reached a deep place of repentance in 2016 and God used the tests and trials of these years to form a humility in me that I didn’t have before. I’ve found that when I humble myself before God he encounters me. In the seasons I forget humility the flow of God and encounters tend to stop.
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble - 1 Peter 5:5
Since going through the dark night from 2014 to 2016 the spiritual gifts and encounters God has given me have been at a level of 100x what they were before. I am extremely sensitive to the spiritual realm.
Understanding the Spiritual realm, Spiritual gifts, and learning how to use them are something I have to try and do. It’s no longer just a desire but a burden. I experience so much stuff that, for my own sanity, I have to understand what’s going on and how the gifts work
The only instruction manual the gifts come with is the Holy Spirit (the teacher) and the Word of God (the Bible). It’s a relationship and he wants us to partner with him in using (and figuring out) our gifts. I’m also thankful I can learn from the prophets and Christian mystics of the early church, that came before me.
Hopefully, in my limited understanding of things, I’m able to help and encourage a few people. I don’t know everything. I’ll always still be learning too.
IHOPKC Intercessory Missionary
I am currently a Prayer Missionary serving on the Prayer Room staff at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO.
I’ve been here since 2017 but also went to school at the International House of Prayer University in 2008.
I was on full-time staff from 2017-2019 until I stepped down when the department I was serving under downsized. I joined Prayer Room staff during this time with the goal to raise financial support and monthly partners. I had never gone through the process of raising support and it was something I’d need to do if I wanted to be on staff.
The prayer room is the only reason I made the journey out here to Kansas City.
Life did not happen the way I had planned, as is often the case. I created this blog a couple of years ago and recently thought that I might be able to use it to raise support. It’s May 4th, 2021 as I write this. I just added donation buttons to the site for the first time.
While I am an Intercessory Missionary and on IHOPKC Prayer Room staff In order for me to join “full time” staff again I need to raise a certain amount of financial support to support myself (and to be eligble).
I am working on the support-raising part and learning how to find partners who want to sow into what God is doing in my life and ministry.
If you are reading this then my financial support needs have not been met yet.
A gift of any amount is appreciated. Just click on the Paypal, CashApp, or Venmo donation link in the right sidebar or the donation page on the top menu.
What I like To Do
I love experiencing God in creation and the outdoors. There is nothing like being in nature away from the hustle and bustle of 2020’s life
I went on my first week long backpacking trip in 2020 (Superior Hiking Trail). Backpacking and spending time in the “back country” with friends is one of my new favorite hobbies.
I also enjoy writing, creating websites, and learning about Internet Marketing. I plan to start a Youtube Channel at some point and get into video.
Disclaimer: I’m Not a “Guru”
I am not some super-spiritual guy who walks around all day in the Spirit. I am a normal person, just like you. I have seasons where I’m pressing into God and in the Word in an extreme way, but that’s not every season. I have plenty of dry seasons and struggle with ordinary things just like you.
I’d rather embrace my weakness and lead with a limp than pretend I have everything figured out.
I have not walked with God perfectly in the 17+ years I have known Him, and I can’t pretend to. I am flawed, just like every believer, but His blood speaks a better word over me. I am made holy, righteous, and clean by the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross. Not by my works.
I strongly desire personal holiness and to be a consecrated vessel. Still, I have fallen short of the standards I set for myself enough to understand that it’s through grace alone that I am saved.
Revelation 12:11 says that we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the Word of our testimony. Revelation 19:10 goes on to say that the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy.
All of our prophetic encounters should reveal the knowledge of God and produce fruit that leads people to love Jesus more.
Judge Spiritual Encounters
Spiritual encounters need to be judged. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and serves as the filter in which we are to view spiritual experiences. Anything that contradicts the Bible is not from God. He will never go against what He’s already revealed to us in Scripture. The Word is living and ACTIVE and sharper than any double-edged sword! (Hebrews 4:12)
I know a thing or two about warfare and counterfeit experiences. Many Christians won’t talk about them, but I think they need to be talked about more. 1 John 4 tells us to test the spirits. In my experience, the only way a prophetic person can learn is through experience and practice.
Hebrews 5:14 talks about mature believers who have their gifts of discernment trained by constant practice in distinguishing good from evil.
You can’t mature unless you face off with some demons and go through fiery trials.
Why I am blogging
This blog is about encountering Jesus and the spiritual experiences that can happen in Christian life. This includes encountering Him in the Word, angels, dreams, visions, gifts of discernment, physical manifestations like fire and power, all of the Spiritual gifts, and many other types of encounters.
I’m not sure what I’ll blog about next, but there are a ton of topics I plan to explore. I’d like to write some posts inspired by the Desert Fathers at some point; and other ancient Christian Mystics, like Theresa of Avila and Madam Guyon.
I operate in gifts that vary and change. I am mostly a feeler, a perceiver, and a knower. I frequently feel physical manifestations of Holy Spirit, fire, glory, various angels, and demonic spirits. I’m also extremely empathetic and what you would call a “highly sensitive person.”
My gift of discernment operates when I walk into a room. I can feel, sense, perceive, and sometimes see the spirits operating in people’s lives. I can sense what God is doing and also the enemy.
I have visions from time to time, but they’re usually night visions (not dreams) or visions/impressions I receive in my mind’s eye when praying for someone/something.
I have a wide variety of spiritual and prophetic encounters. Too many different types to list and many I don’t understand yet.
Why Seer’s Cave?
Well, when I was 14 years old my older cousin and his friends all had nicknames that they called each other. I wanted a nickname too and so I opened a dictionary. I read word after word until I got to a word I liked to pronounce. I stopped on the word “seer.” At that moment I named myself “seer.” I don’t think I realized the definition of the word at the time. I just liked the way the word sounded and looked. At least, this is how I remember it happening.
The name didn’t stick and I quickly forgot about this until years later.
I went to a prophetic conference for the first time in 2007 and as I was driving home I sensed the Lord tell me to go back. I was 10 minutes away, so I turned around and wen’t back to the church it was at. I walked into their bookstore and immediately saw a book with the word “SEER” in large text.
It was James Goll’s book “The Seer.” At that moment I remembered what I had named myself from when I was a teenager. That’s when God began teaching me about my gifts and spiritual sensitivities.
Caves represent a place of hiddeness. In the Bible prophets hid in caves, even David did when he was hiding from Saul. The point of the cave is not being seen by anyone but God.
What I Can & Can’t Do For You
My desire is to not stand in between you and God but to get out of the way so you can connect with and experience him for yourself. A prophet telling you about your life doesn’t do much unless it leads to you connecting with Jesus on a heart level.
That’s my desire.
I get a lot of requests for prophetic words and advice. I cant help you in any way on your journey other than to point you to Jesus and to remind you who you are in Christ. I don’t mind helping you discern whether an encounter is from God or not though, so please feel free to ask.
I don’t normally give prophetic words , that’s just not how my gifts operate. Occasionally I do.
I don’t like to offer advice because the internet is a poor substitute for pastoral counseling. I don’t know you and you really don’t know me. There isn’t too much I can help you with other than to connect you with the Father.
Feel free to get in touch with me by leaving a comment or through the contact form. Sometimes I might take a while to respond but I always try to. At times in can be a few days and other times, it can be a few weeks.
